In 40 years you think the CD will be obsolete? Something like vinyl records are today?
The music will probably small chips or something then? Can you imagine bands like Incubus and Kings of Leon is considered classic rock? Groups like Lynrd Skynrd, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix Experience may be completely forgotten?
I think the CD is already obsolete. new live album, JD Souther, was published only for download at the beginning (perhaps now on CD) labels and things that are increasingly the way for one simple reason: it is cheap.
