Christians: If you're a fan of Elvis Presley?
(Please read, I'm going somewhere with this.) If yes, Elvis did not you like? Did you as a young, thin, hip, sexy, swinging, Elvis, or who prefer older, bloated, drugged Elvis, who died in the toilet? I'd say, most prefer the previous one, regardless of their creed. Why? Because it nice, much better to remember and embrace. However, the older, bloated Elvis, sad and ugly, is still part of the history of Elvis. This is how atheists, myself included, believe that Christians should consider not only the Bible, Christian history. You can choose not to cover only the parts that make you feel good, you should at least acknowledge the horrors of Scripture, and the atrocities committed by Christians in the name of God over the years. I am very curious to see that among the believers, to see my point here.
I understand your point and I agree. Although God is the time to work all things for the good of those who love Him and are called to a close, there are many negative points. It does not fix what is done, there are still consequences. Many Christians, including some with the best intentions, things take A. They may be hypocritical and rude. Sometimes they reflect features more harm than good. They get all caught up in sin and do much harm and little good. We do to admit our mistakes, but we need. Our children are taught about David and Goliath stories, but rarely the David and Bathsheba.
